You’re now chatting with a random stranger. Say hi! Stranger: What is the meaning of life? Stranger: …any takers? You: i think it would be basically not to waste it You: the meaning of life would be the betterment of the things and people around you Stranger: how does one waste a life? what qualifies as wasted? Stranger: Like, ‘never truly loved’ or ‘wasn’t successful enough at work’? You: no…. i think living a fulfilling life would be best determined by how you’ve changed the lives of others for the better Stranger: so a life best lived is based on bettering the lives of others whenever you were able? You: i think so You: what about you? Stranger: First, I must say that I have omegled that question many times and your answer has been my favorite so far. I think we’d all live in a better world if everyone looked at life the way you do. *not to gush, lol Stranger: I usually say that I don’t believe in a meaning and to me it feels like we’re a random biological occurrence happening randomly in space so nothing we do really has any merit or meaning, but I’d rather try to live by your explanation. You: lol, yeahp… Stranger: Though we do seem pretty biologically random…] You: i agree to what you said at first, and i def agree to being random, lol Stranger: So what brings you to omegle this fine [whatever time zone you are in]? Stranger: evening? You: lol, its 9:23 You: and its not too bad Stranger: Eastern standard time zone? You: lmao, answered the wrng question, haha, and yes You: i meant i was bored… watching my brother watch saints row three You: lol Stranger: very thrilling evening for you to, then? noice You: lol, so what are you up to then? Stranger: Sitting around at home, being a bum because it’s cold and there’s nowhere exciting to go in my city and my friends are also all bums. And some Coltrane. Stranger: *also some Coltrane You: agree on it being cold Stranger: Are you in Canada or the states? You: and im also havin a lazy day… haha You: states You: upper michigan to be precise, wbu? Stranger: Vancouver, B.C. Canada. Nice to meet you, Michigan. You: lol… whats it like in canada? Stranger: It’s pretty much the same as Michigan. You: well it is pretty close, lol Stranger: Like, we’re a little more liberal in general and a teeny bit more polite, but pretty much like America. You: im only two hours away from the bridge in sault ste marie…. Stranger: ’course I’ve never seen the south, east coast, or even middle of the US… You: id like to think im a little more polite than the average american, but i see Stranger: You seem nice enough. Stranger: You haven’t asked me to get my tits out, so you’re more polite than the majority of omegle :) Stranger: What’s Michigan like? You: lmao, i’m female as well, this whole time i thought you were a guy… but all’s well, lol You: and michigan is pretty basic, at least in the UP Stranger: lol. Oh, THAT’S why You: thats why what? lol Stranger: is Michigan a red state or a blue state? Stranger: sorry, why you didn’t ask to see tits You: i think blue You: but i’m not much into politics, its depressing to be totally honest You: theres so much corruption and its frusterating Stranger: I hear ya, I’m very into politics, but it’s STILL totally depressing. You: i would be, but id prolly get sick of things being done under the table and “nark” then i’d be the bad guy and my life would be ruined and blah blah blah, haha Stranger: Lol, true. Stranger: So what do you get up to when you aren’t watching your brother game on a Saturday night? Stranger: or any time of day? You: well im the president of my tribal council so i have meetings, conferences, etc that i have to do You: but on my personal time i like reading, beading, sewing, 4wheeling, i am kinda a gamer haha, and i do alot of crafting… You: wbu? You: and crafting as in making things, not voodoo craft* haha Stranger: Wait, what does a President of a Tribal Council do? That sounds fun. You: keep things in order and my council is affiliated with the national tribal council, UNITY, and i’m their representative so i have to travel alot Stranger: Which tribe? You: i help write bilaws, grants, and make curiculums You: ojibwe You: sault ste marie tribe of ojibwe’s Stranger: Cooooooool You: lol, thanks Stranger: Will you teach me something about the Ojibwe tribe? You: well hello in ojibwe is aanii You: thank you is miigwetch You: big thanks is chi miigwetch You: wolf clan is meingun dodum You: so when i introduce myself around fellow natives i say, aanii anish na, meingun dodum, manistique indujnaba…… which means hello, how are you, wolf clan, and i come from manistique You: we believe in the medicine wheel which has the four colors; red, black, yellow, white Stranger: That’s cool, but it takes so long to say. How do you just say “Hey, whassup?” in Ojibway? You: mtw, my spelling isnt perfect, lol You: btw* Stranger: lol You: basically aanii anish na You: and depending on the dialects ppl will spell or say the name of our tribe differently You: the english way would be chippewa You: and then ppl spell it in the native language either Ojibway or Ojibwe Stranger: Really? I always thought that those were two different tribes. You: nope Stranger: Yay, learning. You: lol… Stranger: So when you are beading is it Ojibway beading or just modern girly crafty stuff? You: ummm actually both You: i have a beading loom and i do native desgnng for regalia and jewelry… but i also make random jewelry that has nthing to do with the culture, lol You: designing* Stranger: that sounds fun. meditative. I just started trying to teach myself how to felt, I’m making little felted critters. Stranger: Crafting can be so relaxing. You: thats true…. whats it like to felt? i make coon hats outta their hides, but idk if itd be alike at all Stranger: Wool fibre is covered in microscopic scales so the more you agitate it against itself the more it clumps together (this reaction is even fatser with hot water and soap, which is why you can’t put wool clothes in the wash). You get a clump of wool and a needle with all these nicks along its length and you just keep poking the wool and shaping it with your hands and the needle. It’s a bit slow going, but it’s easy and I find it really fun. You: oh thats cool, i never heard of it b4 Stranger: What do you like to read? You: ummm rose madder by steven king is really good You: i like the blue blood novels You: and the vampire academy You: ummm inkdeath, inkspell You: the boy called it and all the books after that… it was sad but heartfelt You: story of four generations of native women You: lots of books…. Stranger: Have a good night, Michigan! Your conversational partner has disconnected.
